Obama Campaign

I believe this campaign has been one of the greatest campaigns run in presidential history! I had my doubts about Obama early on in the primary season, thinking the country wasn't ready for an African American as president or that maybe he was too inexperienced! I was wrong! Now I have fully jumped on board and see him as a true revolutionary! The way he talks about cutting taxes on the middle class and raising them for the rich, is exactly the economic ideology I feel we need in this country! His plans for health care, the environment, and more diplomacy less war, are only going to make this country stronger! He is already liked by most the world, and isn't even in office yet. I believe he is going to make incredible changes in moving this country forward. That he will establish a legacy even greater than Clinton had left! I believe that with his likability, charisma, and ideology he has the potential to be one of the greatest presidents ever, in the likes of Washington or Lincoln.

I'm proud to say I actually got to witness the process up close, at Obama headquarters in Fort Wayne. I worked 2 hours filling out postcards to send to potential voters. The atmosphere was pretty uplifting, to see everyone so passionate about electing Obama. I met some amazing people, who had practically volunteered their lives to help Obama win this election. There were two ladies from Chicago, who had come to spend the last 2 weeks in Indiana, canvassing and calling people. They spend 12 hours a day on the phone calling people, and they do it all for Free! Its amazing dedication! I truly hope Indiana can go Blue for the first time in 40 years!

I remember reading about David Axelrod, the campaign manager, early on during the primary and admiring his grass-roots strategy. They have developed a state-of-the art system all over the country, that has implanted bases in almost every city in the country. They have truly taken advantage of the internet by developing an amazing network of campaigning. The Obama website is simply incredible, almost like a social community. And Moveon.Org is also very organized and community oriented. I receive emails and texts daily from both these sites about activities and events going on in the neighborhood. Whats even more amazing is most of the people getting involved in this campaign are volunteers. It just goes to show how dedicated people are to make a change!
