MLB Season Opening

As I've written here many times before, baseball was my first sport of choice as a kid. I enjoyed everything about the game, whether playing it or watching it. It was thru Major League Baseball that I found my earliest aspirations. The Chicago Cubs were always my favorite team, yet I also enjoyed the league as a whole. Throughout the 1990s I kept up on the standings, the statistics, the video games, and collected all the baseball cards. I had many favorite players outside of the Chicago Cubs and dreamed to be a professional baseball player as a kid.

However after the strike of 1995, I began to lose interest in professional baseball. I began to direct some of that attention to other sports such as football and soccer. By the late 1990s the NFL was my professional league of choice, while the game of soccer was my sport of choice. Baseball took the 3rd place of my sports interests and I slowly loss attention to the MLB.

Yet even though I prefer the NFL and European soccer over the MLB, the game has always had a warm place in my heart. I've always kept some attention on the rising stars, stories, and champions. And I've always stayed loyal to my Chicago Cubs. After their incredible run last year into the NLCS, I'm excited to follow them this year from the beginning of the season. This will be the first time in a long time that I pay attention to the MLB from the start. So in this post I've decided to highlight the 30 teams. Their brief history and their current outlook.
